Benefits of Patio Doors
Patio doors are a smart, practical choice to let more natural light flood into your home and allow access to your garden. The term “Patio doors” covers different doors styles including sliding glass doors, bifold doors and French doors. Sliding glass patio doors open by sliding panes past each other along a track. Bifold patio doors also sit within a track, but fold back on themselves before sliding to one side. French patio doors simply open from hinges.
Our patio doors are designed to be as beautiful as the outdoor view they frame. Highly-energy efficient, they work to bring the beauty of your garden into your home in the summer but keep the heat and enjoyment throughout the winter.
6 Great Reasons To Choose Composite Patio Doors
Invite The Daylight In
With a large glass area, this style of door maximises the amount of daylight coming into your home. Complete with energy-efficient panes, you can enjoy the views outdoors during any time of the year.
Easy ventilation for your home
Safe and secure with every door
More Colours, More Choice
Coloured window frames and doors can add character to your home, so why not exploit the versatility of the VELFAC composite aluminium / timber system by choosing a different colour palette inside and out?
What options are available?
External aluminium window frames and doors can be polyester-powder coated or can feature a granite or anodised finish. Polyester Powder frames are our standard solution, while granite and anodised are considered “specialities”.
Internal timber frame can be specified in a clear lacquer to enhance the warmth of natural wood or in a range of RAL colours to match your interior decor.
Low Maintenance
If you are looking for hassle free windows, we have the solution for you. VELFAC composite aluminium / wood windows and doors are built with the highest quality materials and are designed to be low maintenance without compromising on energy efficiency. Our windows and doors system features an external frame made of powder-coated aluminium, which won’t need repainting for the lifetime of the unit and will resist even the harshest weather conditions.
The internal wood frame on the other side, with its highly insulating properties, can reduce your heating needs while also helping maintain a better indoor climate, saving potentially hundreds of pounds in energy bills.
In terms of maintenance, both external aluminium and internal pine frames only need regular cleaning with a solution of lukewarm water and mild detergent to be applied using a soft cloth or sponge, while moving parts only need to be cleaned and lubricated once a year.
Noise Reduction
Our composite windows are designed to reduce the level of unwanted noise including heavy traffic and other external noise.
Our high-performance composite windows offer excellent insulation which not only reduces heating bills, but also provides impressive noise reduction.
Sound dampening performance in windows is shown by an Rw rating which indicates the number of decibels by which a window can reduce apparent noise. A standard composite double glazed unit achieves Rw32, which can be increased to Rw41 by adjusting the thickness of the glass and the glazing rebate.
While composite double glazed windows and doors are very effective at reducing noise, the use of thicker glass or different combinations of glass can significantly improve performance and can deliver more precise acoustic control.
