Sustainability

NKG Composite and Sustainability

For NKG Composite sustainability is more than just ensuring the products that we provide create minimal impact to the environment, it includes providing windows and doors that are a long-term investment and encourage wellbeing and maintain a healthier society.

Our manufacturing partners we choose to work with are able to prove to us their evidence of sustainable approach. This includes the ‘Indoor Climate Label’, which is carried on all our products, our use of FSC®-certified wood, and an extensive testing programme to prove the durability of our products. Together, these demonstrate that our compoiste windows and doors are sustainably produced, support a healthy indoor climate and reduce CO2 emissions in the home, in turn making our products an investment in quality and sustainability.

FSC® Certified Wood

We use high quality softwood sourced from sustainable northern European forests, which means that 99.7% of the wood we use is FSC® certified. This small label guarantees that no more wood is felled than the forest itself can replace, and that animals, plants and the people who live and work in the forest, are taken into account.

Recyclable Construction Materials
It’s one thing to use sustainable materials, another to avoid wasting resources during the product life cycle. Our supplier’s aim is a circular economy – where the materials used to make our products do not end up as waste, but can instead be reused and recycled. As a result, VELFAC and Rationel windows and doors can be easily disassembled into individual components, and 93% of these can be recycled.
